Running Smooth and Full of Air: The Many Uses for an Air Compressor
The air compressor is one of the most utilized pieces of machinery in many different industries. Without air compressors you wouldn't have many of the things you use today; from plastic bottles to cement, air compressors play a big part in making sure these things are manufactured and delivered to you smoothly.
Using an air compressor is relatively easy which is why millions of people in the US alone own and use them privately or as part of their work equipment. An air compressor is a great piece of equipment with many uses in the home, at the job site, and in many hobby shops. Air compressors are used daily in hospitals, power plants, restaurants, and used in the manufacturing of airplanes, cement, cars, plastics, and chemicals.
Hobby Happy
There are several hobbies that don't necessarily require the use of an air compressor for the hobby to be productive, but air compressors come in handy when you need to tighten a bolt using an impact hammer or impact wrench, nail a chest of drawers together (air compressors are literally the driving force for nail guns), or inflate the tires on your go kart. Sometimes an air compressor is exactly what you need for your hobby to be successful, just make sure you have all the necessary air compressor parts, and a supply of compressor oil to keep the compressor in good shape for all your favorite projects.
Cleaning Super-Powered
Believe it or not, air compressors are used widely for cleaning—nothing cleans an air filter faster than a gust of air from an air compressor. Also, cleaning a workbench in a wood working shop and cleaning the cob webs and dust from a storage shed becomes a 30 second job when an air compressor is used. After a thorough washing, your car could use a quick dry—an air compressor will dry your car quickly, which means less streaking and more drive time.
If you're married and male, your wife probably wouldn't appreciate you using an air compressor to clean anything in the house, but have you considered using an air compressor to clean out the lint trap in the dryer, or to drive the muddy water on the floor in the mud room towards the drain in the floor? There really are a lot of domestic uses for air compressors, you just need to be creative…but still use commonsense. Using an air compressor to clean out the fridge or to dry off your baby…probably not a good idea.
Repair and Maintain
Maintaining an air compressor is relatively easy. Keeping it lubed with compressor oil, and having a stock of air compressor parts on hand will ensure that your compressor runs smoothly and works when you need it to. There's nothing worse than needing your compressor and finding that misuse and failure to repair has left it broken and irreparable. Air compressors can be expensive, so make sure to treat yours with care to make sure it lasts a long time.
