Air Hammers Uses - ToolsRUs
There are many instances where a tool is created for one use, but over time is adapted for other uses. This is the case with air hammers. This sort of tool is really used as an air chisel more than a hammer. Usually you see this particular tool on the job site of major construction projects or in auto body repair shops or in machine shops where they tend to do metal fabrication.
A few types of air tools include Spraying Equipment, Air Hammer, Air Sander
Other fittings usually fit on the body of air hammers. The other fittings then use the original handle piece of the air hammer to do whatever they need the new tool attachment to do. Some attachments make the hammer a more effective cutting tool, while others turn the hammer into an air powered drill. No matter what attachment you add, fabrication is a great application for the tool.
In an auto body shop you usually see plenty of twisted metal. Sometimes its really hard to break the metal apart and get it out of your way. In most cases you end up needing to completely cut the metal away. Sometimes the panel on the car where the twisted metal is just needs to be replaced. If the metal can be straightened out and smoothed then the panel won’t need to be replaced. However, if you are not replacing the panel than air hammers are not going to be a good choice of tools to use.
This tool is best used on metal fabrication. There are so many things that can be crafted from sheets of metal. In fact, with most manufacturing projects there is an aspect of metal fabrication at some point of the process. And when you're doing metal fabrication there is always going to be a need for cutting with an air hammer tool.
