Everyone understands the importance of a good buff and polish on your car. Polishing keeps most vehicles looking very shiny and new. There are certain things that happen when someone polishes a surface. There are lots of things that need to be polished, but most of the time people only think of cars. While cars is the most common thought there are things like silver that are also a common thing that needs to be polished. To determine the right polishing tool you will need to know what it is that needs to be polished.

There are plenty of buffing tools on the market that are designed to polish cars. In some cases it even makes sense to use an electric polisher rather than trying to do it by hand. The way polishing works is that it smoothes out a surface and therefore provides it with a fantastic shine. If a person magnifies a surface they'll see it has peaks and valleys. When someone takes the time to buff and polish a surface those peaks and valleys are effectively smoothed out. The result is a very shiny smooth surface that will glisten in the light.
Not everyone wants to polish their cars though, some want to polish other things. Shoes, metal and wood surfaces and sometimes the fine silver all need to get a good polish every now and then. If something could benefit from some added shine then you will want to polish it up.

Would I have to re -Lacquer ?
When using one of those machine polishers for a car and using a a "Special" abrasive compound (Top Layer of paint and inperfections) remover. (the ones that can cause paint burns if not used with a lot of water!
Does this automatically take off the lacquer aswell? or putting it another way is it the "done thing" to relacquer after this removal of top layer or even more so a very harsh polish.
Is this normal? I havent done it yet so i dont know.
When i hear of it taking off paint as i saw from a program it showed the paint on the grinder. the paint came up beautiful. what they didnt say was if the re laquered the car or not.
lacquer is on top of the paint yes? so im guessing when i saw paint on the spounge ont the machine polisher, they must have taken off laquer aswell?

You say you havn't done it yet. Please dont! I can tell you know nothing about buffing/polishing. You can ruin the paint on your car very easily.Your car does not have lacquer on it,
You should let a qualified professional body shop do this for you.
