How to Clean Personal Electronics : Tips on Cleaning Your Personal CD & DVDs
Did you know the toothpaste can fix your Xbox 360 Game disc Read Error?
Game disc Read Error can basically happen due to many factors the couple of factors contribute to this problem as explained below:
1) Game disc is scratched
2) Game disc is dirty/dusty once game disc are not kept properly in their cases, dirt and dust can build up on them. So, when the DVD drive tries to read them, the laser beam path get blocked, resulting in the error
3) Incorrect region game disc since DVDs came in different formats that states their regions. If the region of the DVD and player do not match, it won't play the game disc.
How toothpaste can fix this Xbox 360 game disc read error?
Xbox 360 game discs will often get scratches, but these can be fixed with a time intensive procedure that involves the use of toothpaste, water and a soft cloth. Find out how to use a micro-finish polish to fix Xbox 360 game disc scratches
Firstly, don't start hitting your console as it will only make matters worst. Game disc Read Error fix varies inline with the factors below.
If the game disc is scratched, you can try cleaning it with a piece of cloth. If the scratches are extreme, then you would need to replace it.
If it's dirty, then just clean it up and make sure to place it in a case or folder.
Try the toothpaste trick, or try this:
Wash the xbox 360 game disc under the hottest water your faucet can produce, if it burns your hands be careful, but don't turn the faucet down. Then, get toilet paper(not a towel, not a paper towel, they can scratch it, toilet paper is softer), then wipe gently starting in the center, straight to the outer rim of the disc. *DO NOT wipe in a circular motion*, this should be straight outwards, when you finish one straight wipe, start a new one next to it, and work around the game disc like this. If there are particles loosened by the hot water, and you're wiping in a circular motion, you will damage more of your game disc.
Then repeat this by using Windex, yes windex, and finally one more time with water.
Toothpaste works, but it essentially does the same thing as this, a bit messier, and it leaves a film that can wear down your system's laser lens.
